Profile

Rodrigo is an international public health and policy leader with over a decade of experience spanning government, international organisations, and the private sector. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Infectious Disease Alliance (IDA), and is the founder of the Global Health Finance Coalition and the Infectious Disease Policy Journal. His earlier career includes roles at Novo Nordisk, the World Diabetes Foundation, and the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for Europe. His current doctoral research, undertaken at UAB under the supervision of Otavio Ranzani, Héctor Pardo, and Pablo Alonso, focuses on harmonising infectious disease burden and health financing data to identify systematic gaps in investment, building on a One Health approach. Rodrigo is fluent in nine languages, and outside of work is a father of three and a longtime double bass player in symphonic orchestras.
