DataHealth Lab at LIVES 2026 in Lisbon

From 10 to 14 October 2026, Lisbon hosted LIVES 2026, the 39th Annual Congress of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM), one of the largest annual gatherings in critical care research and clinical practice. The DataHealth Lab was there in full: debating on stage, moderating poster sessions, and presenting three posters across the week.

⭐ Otavio as Rising Star

Otavio was selected as a Rising Star by ESICM, a designation given to emerging leaders in intensive care medicine who take on featured roles across the scientific programme: from debates to moderation of abstract sessions.

🎤 Debate

On Monday 12 October, Otavio participated as a debater in the session From infection to sepsis: how to identify patients at risk of a dysregulated host response, alongside Massimo Girardis (Modena, Italy) and Evangelos J. Giamarellos-Bourboulis (Athens, Greece), bringing a data-driven perspective to one of critical care’s most pressing questions in precise medicine in sepsis.

🗂️ Moderating poster sessions

As part of the Rising Star programme, Otavio co-moderated two abstract sessions: Infection (Tuesday 13 October, with Anahita Rouzé from Lille, France) and Systemic Inflammation and Sepsis (Wednesday 14 October, with J. Pedro Teixeira from Albuquerque, USA).

📋 Posters

All three posters are published in the ESICM LIVES 2026 abstract supplement of Intensive Care Medicine Experimental.

Mario Zaccarelli presented Mechanical Ventilation Weaning Outcomes in Neurocritical vs Non-Neurocritical Patients: A Post-Hoc Analysis of Two Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trials (abstract).
